The brushfires in SoCal are nowhere near me, or near this part of L.A. County at all, and I don't expect them to be.

The air quality, however, sucks. I've had a low-level nosebleed pretty much constantly since yesterday, which always happens when the air gets this dry and this filled with crap.

Watching this feels like what I imagine a really heavy acid trip must be like.

People, on the whole, can be really, really horrible sometimes. I don’t know how many times I've encountered some example of stupidity or venality or just plain unkindness and have thought, "God, I hate people," and, at least at that moment, meant it.

However, they can also be really, really wonderful.
